Vegetable Khichdi Made In Triply Steel Pressure Cooker

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup rice
- 1/2 cup yellow moong dal
- 1 small carrot, chopped

- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Step-by-Step Method
- Wash rice and moong dal together 2 to 3 times.
- Soak them for 10 to 15 minutes if you have time.
- Heat ghee in the Triply Steel Pressure Cooker.
- Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
- Add grated ginger and green chilli.
- Add chopped tomato and cook for 1 minute.
- Add carrot, peas, and potato.
- Add turmeric powder, black pepper powder, and salt.
- Add washed rice and dal to the cooker.
- Pour water and mix everything well.
- Close the lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistles on medium flame.
- Let the pressure release naturally.
- Open the cooker and mix the khichdi gently.
- Add more hot water if you want a softer consistency.
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot with curd, pickle, or papad.
