Vegetable Khichdi Made In Triply Steel Pressure Cooker

Vegetable khichdi is a light, healthy, and comforting one-pot meal made with rice, dal, vegetables, and simple spices. The Triply Steel Pressure Cooker cooks everything evenly and gives a soft, creamy texture without much effort.

Ingredients

For vegetable khichdi:

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1 small carrot, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 small potato, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Step-by-Step Method

  1. Wash rice and moong dal together 2 to 3 times.
  2. Soak them for 10 to 15 minutes if you have time.
  3. Heat ghee in the Triply Steel Pressure Cooker.
  4. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  5. Add grated ginger and green chilli.
  6. Add chopped tomato and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Add carrot, peas, and potato.
  8. Add turmeric powder, black pepper powder, and salt.
  9. Add washed rice and dal to the cooker.
  10. Pour water and mix everything well.
  11. Close the lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistles on medium flame.
  12. Let the pressure release naturally.
  13. Open the cooker and mix the khichdi gently.
  14. Add more hot water if you want a softer consistency.
  15. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with curd, pickle, or papad.
