Crispy Vegetable Appe in Omichef Cast Iron Paniyaram Pan

Vegetable appe is one of the best recipes to make in a Cast Iron Paniyaram Pan. The pan helps each appe cook evenly from all sides, giving a crispy outside and soft inside. It is perfect for breakfast, evening snacks, and lunchbox recipes.

Ingredients

For appe batter:

  • 2 cups idli or dosa batter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
  • 8-10 curry leaves, chopped
  • Salt if needed
  • Oil as needed

Step-by-Step Method

  1. Add idli or dosa batter to a mixing bowl.
  2. Add onion, carrot, green chilli, coriander, curry leaves, and salt.
  3. Mix everything well.
  4. Heat the Omichef Cast Iron Paniyaram Pan on medium flame.
  5. Add a few drops of oil in each cavity.
  6. Pour batter into each cavity, filling about three-fourths.
  7. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Flip each appe using a spoon or wooden stick.

  10. Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
